Jeju Island
Jeju Island is a volcanic island in South Korea and has one of the tallest volcano mountain named Halla-san (Halla Mountain) with 1,950 meters hieght. Jeju Island has retained its UNESCO biosphere reserve status. The island was formerly known as Cheju Island and located off the southern coastal of South Korea in the Korea Strait southwest to the Jeollanam-do Province.

The island is famous for the haenyeo - the female divers who dive into the cold sea to collect abalone and other seafood. They will dive in the sea for up to five hours in a day without wearing any scuba gear.

The island has a number of UNESCO World Heritage natural sites and is a featured honeymoon destination for newly married Koreans.

Recently, Jeju island has got a position in the list of the new seven wonders of the natural world. Jeju has got a wonderful volcanic cone that resembles a grass-covered butte, the longest lava tunnel in the present world and an immense extinct volcano - the Mount Halla.
